Using the app
Slack
Connect a Slack workspace and post each project's new signals to a channel.
Signals posts new signals to Slack. One workspace per organization, one channel per project.
Connect the workspace
Only org admins and managers can do this.
Open Integrations
Add to Slack
If the workspace is linked to another organization, disconnect it there first.
Pick a channel for each project
Open project settings
Choose the channel
Send a test
Private channel? Steve must be in it. In Slack, open the channel and type /invite @Steve, then send a test message. A channel Steve is not in shows Steve not in channel. Two projects can share a channel.
What a message looks like
Signals posts one message per competitor and source for each check, not one per item. Each message has a title and a link into Signals.
- One item: the emoji, competitor and type, then the headline as a link.
- Many items: a total line, a linked line per platform for ads and reviews, then View all N in Signals.
| Emoji | Source |
|---|---|
| ⭐ | Reviews |
| 📰 | News |
| 💬 | Posts |
| 🗣️ | Mentions |
| 📣 | Ads |
| 🌐 | Website |
| 🆕 | New competitor |
| 🧪 | Test message |
Messages are in English only. LinkedIn engagement is never posted. Signals does not backfill signals from before you picked the channel.
When Slack is paused
A project shows Slack paused with Open settings. Webhooks and email keep working.
| Reason | Fix |
|---|---|
| Channel unavailable (archived, deleted, or private and Steve not invited) | Unarchive or pick another channel, or /invite @Steve. Then click Send test message. |
| Slack revoked access (Connection lost) | An admin clicks Reconnect. Missed signals stay in the Feed. |
Disconnect
Click Disconnect on the Slack card. Signals stops posting and clears the channel of every project. Webhooks and emails keep working. You can connect again any time.
