Competitors
See every competitor at a glance, open one for its sources, topics, people and mentions.
The list
Three cards sit on top:
- Signals · last N days, with the change against the previous period
- Paused sources
- Most active, or Quiet so far when no competitor has a signal yet
The table columns are Competitor, Signals · N days (a sparkline, the busiest day in full color), Sources (one colored icon per source, the rest as +N), Credits / month and Last change.
Find new competitors
The Find new competitors card turns on the New competitors tracker. Signals watches your market and tells you when a new competitor appears. Use Turn on, Turn off or Resume. It needs your website first, set in About you. Otherwise the card says Add your website first.
Competitor detail
Click a competitor to open it.
From top to bottom:
- Header: the logo, name and a link to the website, then four cards: Signals · 30 days (with a sparkline), People engaged · 30 days (when LinkedIn engagement is tracked), Active sources (N of M) and Credits / month.
- Watching for: topics Signals uses to judge relevance. Click Edit, pick topics, then Save.
- Sources: a table of the competitor's trackers, always above the tabs. Add source adds more. A line like N not tracked lists sources you have not set up.
- Tabs: Signals (open by default), People and Mentions. People and Mentions show only when that tracker is set up.
The Signals tab lists the competitor's recent signals. If none yet: Each source checks on its own schedule.
The topics are:
- Pricing and packaging
- New features
- Enterprise push
- Partnerships
- Hiring and leadership
- Customer complaints
You can add free text too. With nothing chosen, every relevant change at the competitor counts.
People
The People tab shows who reacted to or commented on the company's newest LinkedIn posts. It comes from the LinkedIn engagement tracker.
- Columns: Name (photo, name linked to the LinkedIn profile, headline), How, Post, First seen.
- How names the reaction LinkedIn sent (Like, Celebrate, Love, Insightful, Support, Funny) or Commented. Someone who engaged with several posts also shows N posts.
- Filters: Everyone, Reacted, Commented, and a post filter.
- Export CSV saves the list. If it is capped you see Narrow the filters for the rest.
LinkedIn engagement does not appear in the Feed, Slack or webhooks. You read it here and through the pull API.
Mentions
The Mentions tab lists posts by others about the competitor.
- Columns: Author (photo, name linked to the LinkedIn profile, headline), Who, Post, Found.
- Who filter: Everyone, the competitor's team, or Others.
- A toggle switches between Relevant and All found.
- The first check saves a number of mentions as the starting point. They are not signals.
